Tim and Janessa first met on the mission field in Northern Uganda, where each was serving with the same ministry in the small city of Gulu. That meeting led to a developing relationship which led to marriage in 2012. Although they had returned to the United States, they both knew their hearts were in Uganda and with the people there.
In 2016 they joined the staff of Harvest Alliance and made the move back to the city where it all started: Gulu, Uganda. Joining them was their young son, Silas. They are now “at home” in Gulu and have added to their family as they are fostering two Ugandan children and are in the process of adoption. Joining Silas, age 4 are Felix, age 6 and Gifty, age 2. They are also studying hard to learn the native language, Acholi.
Tim is serving as Director of Cultivate Discipleship in Gulu. He works closely with Pastors and Church leaders to encourage each toward a deeper understanding of their relationship with God. Through his efforts these leaders are learning the importance of discipling their flocks. Both Tim and Janessa are passionate about coming alongside these leaders to model what Discipleship looks like and to encourage each to “dig deeper” in their faith.
And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. - 2 Timothy 2:2
