Marcia’s journey into the ministry and ultimately missionary work started as a teenager when she joined the High School Choir at her Church - College Avenue Baptist in San Diego, California.   She continued in the Women’s Choir at Bethel Bible College and then later as a member of the Adult Choir at College Avenue Baptist where she participated as part of a short term mission tour of Europe.

The lessons she learned during her years with various Choirs were put into practice as she later directed Children’s Choirs at two churches.These Children’s Choirs thrived and she still has contact with some of the people she worked alongside in this ministry.

While directing Children’s Choirs, she also worked in the administrative offices of both churches.
In 1996, she was recruited to work with Church Dynamics International (CDI), a ministry associated with Campus Crusade for Christ.  This ministry focused on working alongside pastors and church leaders to foster a climate where all members could grow and become reproducing disciples.

In 1999, the founder of CDI and his “recruit” Chuck Flood, a former Judge and local attorney, followed God’s lead and established a ministry to fill a void in the mission field for independent missionaries.  Chuck Flood formed a corporation which would provide a home base for these “independents” whose mission did not fit into the specific “box” outlined by other ministries.  Marcia followed God’s lead to join them as Administrative Assistant. Marcia has been instrumental in the development and growth of what is known as Harvest Alliance International since its inception.

In 2010, through a series of events, Marcia became President of Harvest Alliance International, a position she holds to this day.  With characteristic humility, she tackles the day to day operational issues of the local US office, fields inquiries from staff and supporters alike, plans conferences, brainstorms about the future, manages the finances and generally makes sure the whole organization is running smoothly.

Marcia has been married to Jay for over 40 years; has 3 children and 2 grandchildren – all of whom provide love, support and balance in her life.
