I am currently involved in teaching the children in the Home who range in age from 9-19. I tutor in English using material extracted from Bible Stories and we talk about what God means for us to understand and apply from these passages. I also help them prepare for tests and exams in English, Maths, Sciences, Statistics, Geography and History (Social Sciences). I am in the process of developing syllabi for courses already being held teaching sewing and tailoring, knitting and crochet, weaving and dyeing, Fibre arts and crafts. I have already taught these courses in the Eswatini Spring Term which runs from September to December. I have also been involved in outreach in Mozambique during a field visit to a community there and will be going to Zambia and Botswana this coming year. I have also participated in outreach to Syrian and Afghani refugees in Athens for several summers until they were moved out from the city. I am involved in one of the local churches in Nhlangano and set to be part of a sermon series starting in February. Since I have just started in Eswatini, the director of the institute, Claudio Graziani, has ideas on how I could be further involved in teaching sustainable approaches to cultivation, recycling, and other areas where I have skills and expertise. My PhD in history of art and architecture, Masters in Design and Restructuring as well as Urban Planning Strategies are being put to use.
