One-to-One Reproductive Disciplemaking
In 1982 Byron and Lin started working with pastors and church leaders, to serve and equip them to lead Reproducing Disciplemaking Churches in the U.S. and globally. The ministry developed close to home, serving pastors in the greater San Diego area. Since 1998, the opportunities have expanded internationally in East, West, and South Africa, Vietnam, India, Israel, Germany, and most significantly to nineteen trips (2–8 weeks each) to Ethiopia over 15 years.
God’s incredible process of focusing on Intimacy with God through One-to-One Reproductive Disciplemaking has spread through African friendships from Ethiopia to at least 15 other African countries, to several areas in India and to several Latin American countries. Growing in Intimacy with God through the “Knowing God Personally” heart to heart dialogues continues to be Byron's and Lin's ministry passion and the greatest investment of their lives.
The Lord has used the gifts of leadership, administration, and prophecy He has given Byron, blended with Lin’s gifts, and the multitude of faithful, obedient, and available One-to-One Reproductive Disciplemaking men and women to help fulfill His Great Commission. Byron is committed to serve and equip pastors and church leaders worldwide to reproduce churches which make disciples who make disciples in intimacy with God because of Jesus’ Great Commission.
Jesus knew that His Father would be most glorified by completing the work His Father gave Him (John 4:34, NLT). Jesus said that doing the work of His Father was nourishing to Him (John 4:34, NLT). If it was nourishing to Him, it is nourishing to us and to His Church. Churches that make disciples who make disciples in the power of the Spirit are healthier and more fruitful churches.
Disciplemakers grow in intimacy with God and with each other. Disciplemaking congregations build leaders in the power of the Holy Spirit who share in greater unity of purpose, forgiveness, and fellowship as Jesus intended. Leaders who are disciplemakers develop and guide new specialized disciplemaking ministries that reach new people, strengthen the church, and cultivate disciple-making family groups, all to contribute (rather than compete) to the church’s disciplemaking process. Disciplemaking churches multiply disciplemaking churches to reach and disciple all nations until Jesus' Commission is fulfilled.
